For tens of thousands of years, First Nations across the North Pacific Coast have cared for, managed, and stewarded their lands and waters. With ancient place-based governing systems and an unbroken connection to everything that lives within their territories, Indigenous people, cultures and laws serve as a prime example for developing sustainable practices.
